Fragrance

Promise, the second fragrance in the collection by Dominique Ropion, is dedicated to one of the strongest bonds in human relationships — the ability to keep one’s word. During a journey through the Middle East, Frédéric learned that honoring a promise given from one person to another is a matter of honor for the local people. Frédéric Malle and Dominique Ropion kept their promises. To achieve the desired artistic depth, the composition called for two precious varieties of rose: Bulgarian rose essence and Turkish rose absolute. These ingredients are paired with notes of apple, pink pepper, and clove, resting on a sensual base of patchouli, labdanum, and ambroxan — creating an accord that is unified and indivisible, much like a vow.
