All about the Jil Sander show, spring-summer 2025

Autumn has arrived in Milan with the first day of Fashion Week for the spring-summer 2025 season. Heavy rains and a sharp drop in temperature interfered with the show schedule in an unpleasant way. The fashionable capital of Italy is already stuck in hour-long traffic jams, and in this weather, everyone was late for the show.

Against the backdrop of a depressing weather forecast, the Jil Sander show looked like a form of escapism - an escape into a fashionable reality full of sophisticated beauty, strict elegance and good weather.

The Jil Sander wardrobe for the spring-summer 2025 season can be divided into two parts. The first is strict and “masculine”, replete with oversized suits, loafers, leather and sheath shirts with colored “bibs”. There are many gray and burgundy suits here, which are recommended to be worn with matching shirts and ties. (We previously talked about this styling technique in our Back to Office material - be sure to read it). The difference between the new season and office classics is the ubiquitous fringe. She complemented the cuffs of jackets and shirts and even fell from earrings, giving the images an oriental or even Central Asian flavor. We are sure that the trend will resonate with Kazakhstani fashionistas!

The second part of the Jil Sander collection, spring-summer 2025, is more refined and poetic. And it is inspired and dedicated to Asia! Seemingly catering to the tastes of the East, creative director duo Lucy and Luke Meyer added flowing silk tunics with dozens of buttons and two-piece pajamas with a mesmerizing gradient reminiscent of the dawn. The focus and priority of the region for the brand is eloquently demonstrated by the casting, consisting mainly of models from Asia.

Special mention should be made of items with a unique design - photographic prints of photographs by Canadian photographer Greg Girard on silk fabric. In the 1970s, he traveled to major Asian cities, from Hong Kong to Bangkok and Tokyo. The photographer's work explores the social and physical transformations in the region's major cities over more than three decades. It’s a pity that the author has not yet reached Almaty.
